What makes you proud to work at Swan?
I started at Swan as a driver and worked my way up to Branch Manager. Fifteen years on, I’m still here because Swan gives you a path, not just a job. I’ve even encouraged a family member to follow that same path, and watching them grow here makes me proud.

I joined Swan Tamworth 20 months ago from a drive-thru coffee shop, with zero plumbing knowledge. Walking into a trade environment as a young woman took some getting used to, but the team backed me from the start. Now I run our showroom sales, help out at the trade counter, and average a quarter of the store’s sales per month. I’m also a mum to a five-year-old, so juggling it all keeps me on my toes, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come.

What does it mean to you, to work for a family-focused business?
You don’t hang around for 30 years without loving what you do. I’ve been lucky to work at various Swan locations, with some fantastic staff and customers who I now call friends. How good is it to wake up each morning and look forward to going to work? Enjoying whatever the day brings is part of it. Delivery driving is only part of what I do. I like to think I’m the face of the store on-site with the plumbers.

A relative of mine worked for Swan and put in a good word for me. Growing up I never pictured myself in plumbing supplies, but eight years on I’m the Assistant Manager at Nerang. I love the banter with the customers, half of them are mates now, and the crew I work with feel like family.
